24 Hours of the Le Mans

Dear readers, the stage is set for the centennial race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023. This weekend, on June 10th and 11th, engines will roar once again on the iconic mixed circuit of Le Sarthe. This edition is marked by the celebration of the historic 100th edition of the race and a grid filled with Hypercars, the new top category of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Toyota Gazoo Racing, which has won the last five editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, seeks a sixth consecutive victory. The Japanese manufacturer will present its improved GR010 Hybrid, which has been modified in the propulsion system to reduce weight and improve reliability, and with adjustments for brake cooling. Their drivers, Mike Conway and Sébastien Buemi, return with past Le Mans victory experiences.

On the other hand, Porsche returns to the star category in endurance racing hand in hand with Roger Penske with the Porsche 963, which is inspired by the winning 956 and 962 from the 1980s. This year, Porsche will feature experienced drivers like Dane Cameron, Michael Christensen, Frédéric Makowiecki, Kevin Estre, Felipe Nasr, and Mathieu Jaminet.

Unfortunately, I have had technical difficulties in accessing the most recent information about Ferrari, Peugeot, Cadillac, and Vanwall. However, I can tell you that Ferrari is one of the historic brands at Le Mans, with nine victories to its name, and that this year it will compete with its new Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Hypercars category. On the other hand, Peugeot has won on three occasions, while Cadillac and Vanwall have participated previously, but not in the star category, as they will in the Centennial edition.

I hope to be able to provide more information about these teams in the future. For now, there's no doubt that the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023 promises to be an exciting and action-filled event. Stay tuned for more updates.
